Eggs brought to you by...

I have wanted chickens for about 10 years, but living in the city of Virginia Beach and not in an Ag zone, I wasn't able to (legally), and we never really had the space. I ordered chicks from a hatchery (I had a great experience with Meyer Hatchery) and they arrived this past April. I never planned to name them because I thought once they were done laying, they would feed us in a different way but....one had a name before I left the post office.

I got to the post office and as the doors slid open, I could hear my baby chicks chirping away. As I got up to the window, a very nice lady handed me a box and started asking lots of questions. She said her goodbyes to the chicks and then asked if I had plans to name them. I asked what her name was, and that's how it started.

All chicken eggs laid on the farm come from one of these lovely ladies: Cathy, Whitney, Penny, Little (Lil') Bit, Sylvie, Thelma, Louise, Lavergne, and Shirley.

*Cathy, if you're out there...Thank You!!
